Me on the beach

 Here's the Lowdown on Me:

Personally:

I am a 50 something mum of four (Now adults, thankfully). I share my home with my partner, two dogs, two cats and some fish (don’t ask). I have a love for nature and wildlife and my aspiration for my next life incarnation is to follow in David Attenboroughs footsteps (Who wouldn’t? What a treasure) I am spiritual, but not religious. The Pagan path is my home but I am eclectic in my outlook. It’s all about what sits well within my mind, body and soul.

My Identity:

In early 2013 I had a total life shift. Up to that point I identified as a straight, somewhat non cis gendered woman. Now, I identify as gender fluid and gay. No one, not even me, expected I would be gay in my older years.. Funny how life turns out.

I am also an adoptee of the forced adoption era in the UK (1949 - 1975) Although I have no training in adoptee therapy I certainly do have life long experience including coming out of the fog (adoptee speak) searching for and meeting biological family.

If you were an adopted/relinquished child in any way. I can help you navigate your world through the eyes of the adoptee.

Professionally:

I have worked within the world of psychosexual therapy for 17 years, mostly within the NHS whilst continuing to maintain a small private practice. And GSRD (gender, sexual, relationship diversity) therapy

I have also worked three years at a gender identity clinic in the UK offering gender questioning and exploration and also psychosexual therapy.

I have training and knowledge (and not just from books or courses!) in BDSM, fetish, kink open and various combos of poly relationships.

I have a Supervisor who I talk to every month about any sticking points we may encounter in therapy. Don’t worry all your info is anonymized so she’s not going to be able to spot you in the supermarket. But she might just have some good ideas that we haven’t thought of.

I keep up to date in my fields of work by attending CPD, (That’s continual Professional Development to you and me). Workshops and training around my fields of expertise and interests. The more knowledge I have the better I can help.

There you have it! The slightly crazy, gloriously unique me.

Here are my qualifications
